Beyond the Bar – Totally Original Bachelor Party Ideas

0

You get to a point (usually sometime in your late 20s or early 30s) where bachelor parties start to get a little monotonous. Yet another bar, serving yet another funnily named shot. Yet another club, playing a throbbing mix of top 40 hits and old hip hop tracks. Even the Vegas bachelor parties start to seem unimaginative after a while.

And that’s the important thing: where did the imagination go? Why does every bachelor party have to revolve around a bar? Well, the good news is that they don’t. Start thinking beyond the bar, and there is a whole wealth of great ideas for bachelor parties.

If you want to make your bachelor party – or your buddy’s bachelor party – a true original, ditch the cheap shots and try one of the following ideas

Axe Throwing

Is there anything manlier, more befitting a bachelor party than axe throwing? The answer is: probably not. Get your buddies to dress in their finest flannel and blue jeans, and go axe throwing for your bachelor party instead of the bar.

When you book a party through an axe throwing facility, you get a free tutorial on how to toss an axe, and then an hour or two to compete in a round-robin style tournament. It’s a great way to start a bachelor night because it gets the blood pumping and the light-hearted spirit of competition going.

Butchery Class

You could go out for a steak, or you could grill one at someone’s house – those are delicious ideas, but they’ve been played out. For a spin on the standard “meat-fest” bachelor party, why not start with a butchery class, where you will learn how to deconstruct a side of beef into different, tasty cuts.

Best of all, when the class is over, you get to take some beef back with you. Supper always tasted better when you’ve earned it, and this is a great lead-in to a steak dinner.

Dartboard Road Trip

Why go to Vegas when you could go to… somewhere complete random. Pull up a map of your state (or for the larger states, your region), and have the groom throw a dart at it. The closest town to wherever the dart lands is where you’re going to party. It could a backwater town in the middle of nowhere, or the capital city – the fun of a dartboard road trip is that you just don’t know.

Plus, it’s far more fun to take an unsuspecting place by storm that to be just another bachelor party in Vegas.

Beer Making

This take some pre-planning – about a month of pre-planning to be exact. Get your buddies together to brew a special “bachelor party beer”, complete with custom labels and then let the beer ferment and bottle condition over the next (roughly) four weeks. When the formal bachelor party rolls around, you can drink the fruits of your labor.

Don’t be the same old bachelor party as everyone else. Try one of these original ideas, and throw a party to remember.Or not remember, depending on how much you imbibe.
