If you want to step up your Summer, keep reading for three exciting things you should try this Summer!
- Outside Art
Whether you have extra time over the Summer or not, trying out a new art form during the Summer is an excellent hobby to explore on those hot Summer days! It’s great to start getting the most out of your hobbies, and art is one of the best ways to relax without expending too much extra energy, especially if you live in an extra hot places in the Summer. If you want to get the most out of this art form, you can take art classes, which are usually offered in abundance over the Summer in museums and art foundations. Things get especially fun when you start taking your painting or crafting outside. Starting an art project, or learning something new while being out in the balmy Summer is an excellent way to step up your Summer!
- Foraging
There is no better time than the Spring and Summer to start learning how to forage. This is a great way to become more knowledgeable about the plants and wildlife that your location has to offer. You may be surprised at how much your location has to offer when it comes to what to eat and the different uses that plants have to offer. This is also an excellent way to get kids involved in hiking and learning more during their Summer break. However, there is a huge caution involved in this activity. Although tons of different lands offer food and medicine for you to take, it’s very very important that you never put anything into your body until you have one hundred percent correctly identified it. Many plants and mushrooms are actually incredibly toxic, and sometimes deadly to humans, so if you’re involved in this one, make sure you always do your research, join a local foraging community, and get books to cross reference species that you find. If you’re ever unsure about a certain plant or mushroom, never ever take the chance.
- Barefoot Waterskiing
If you’ve been missing out on some essential exercise this Summer, there’s nothing better than barefoot waterskiing. Also called “footing” by the pros, this sport is a great way to spend time in the Sun, without spending a ton of time and money on equipment. The sport is really quite simple, but can be incredibly difficult to master. Check out this video by Keith St. Onges, a fourteen-time national champion of barefoot waterskiing explain how to do the barefooting surface hop trick!
