Chennai is going to host the initial match of IPL 2019- Watch live on YuppTV

The 12th season of the Indian Premier League also known as IPL 12 will be inaugurating on the 23rd of March 2019 after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had confirmed that the tournament will take place entirely in India itself and not in other countries, as believed earlier.

With all the previous seasons’ teams returning to compete for the title of India’s number one cricket club, along with new players and some small changes. Delhi Daredevils have renamed themselves the ‘Delhi Capitals’ back in December 2018 and have also released a new logo for their franchise. Rajasthan Royals have changed the color of their jerseys from blue to pink. All the top 6 teams have acquired new and exciting talent for themselves in the player auctions held on the 18th of December 2018 in Jaipur.

The transfer market news for the transfers and retentions was headlined by the likes of Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh and Glen Maxwell being released. Jaydev Unadkat, the most expensive player in the 2018 IPL auction was also released. 

At the player auctions, Jaydev Unadkat and Varun Chakravarthy were the costliest players at Rs. 8.4 crores who were bought by Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab respectively. The most expensive foreign player at Rs. 7.2 crores were Sam Curran who was bought by Kings XI Punjab as well. Other eminent players like Brendon McCullum, Chesteshwar Pujara, Alex Hales and Mushfiqur Rahim all remained unsold.

The matches will take place at the usual locations, namely the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi, the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, the Eden Gardens Stadium of Kolkata, the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Punjab and the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The opening match of the tournament will be held in Chennai at the MA Chidambaram Stadium where the Chennai Super Kings will play against Royal Challengers Bangalore. You can also watch CSK vs RCB live on YuppTV itself.
