Obviously, you’ll need to leave some bits to the professionals, but it’s quite easy to buy blow off valves online, and upgrading this seemingly simple component can greatly improve the longevity and efficiency of your engine.

Service It
Getting your car serviced regularly can be quite costly, but if you want your car to perform properly and minimize your chances of a breakdown, it’s a necessary expense. Now that you’ve got some extra time on your hands, why not look into performing your own basic services?
Trickier tasks will still require the assistance of a mechanic, and you should never mess with your car’s computer unless you’re qualified, but changing your oil and air filters and dropping in a fresh batch of oil is a simple enough DIY.

Once you’re done playing with your car, why not pull it out into the driveway and offer the kids some extra pocket money if they give it a wash. Now we’re not saying that this project will be easy, and you will obviously require the right tools, but anyone with a well-stocked toolbox, some lengths of wood and the right amount of time on their hands, has the ability to create some pretty awesome furniture.
Green It
While you’re at it, why not create a vertical vegetable garden? This is a great DIY project in and of itself, but it also offers a whole host of long-term benefits. Not only will you have fresher, healthier produce, you’ll also be able to slash your grocery bill, teach the kids a valuable life skill (and learn one yourself if you’ve never gardened before), and have an abundant supply of in-season veg that you could sell at the market if you choose to.
The garage is often seen as simply being your car’s home, but with a little creativity, it can become a workshop for a whole host of fun and useful projects that will help you get through this quarantine with your sanity intact.
