Winx
Trained in Australia and owned by Magic Bloodstock Racing, Winx has won several valuable races, with the top winner being the 2018 Cox Plate which earned Winx’s team around £1.76 million. While Arrogate had a somewhat fleeting spot in the limelight, Winx has had a stellar career for many years. She’s one of Australia’s top racehorses and her Cox Plate win was in fact her fourth win, bringing her unbeaten tally to 29. Over the course of her career, she’s earned a staggering £12,619,301.
Gun Runner
Gun Runner has earned £12,238,136 over the course of his career and despite his Classic season being anything but spectacular, he still managed to secure a victory at the Pegasus World Cup in 2018. Gun Runner was a late bloomer but that hasn’t stopped him rising in the ranks to become one of the top winners in the world. He won a hat-trick of Graded races and several top-flight places. In 2017, he won the Breeders’ Cup Classic to net him a further £2.68 million and also won £1.63 at the Dubai World Cup, even though he came in second to Arrogate.
Thunder Snow
The Irish thoroughbred has seen great success over the course of his career. He’s the only two-time winner of the Dubai World Cup, securing victory in both 2018 and 2019, as well as an incredible victory in the Criterium International in France in 2016. At the end of 2016, he was rated as the best two year old trained in Britain and has had eight career wins so far. He is one of the highest winners in the world, with net earnings of £12,671,800 so far.
Gentildonna
Now retired, Japanese thoroughbred Gentildonna enjoyed great success while racing. In 2012, she won the Japanese Fillies Triple Crown and was also voted Horse of the Year in Japan. She was the first three year old filly to win the Japan Cup and is also a two-time winner of the race. She won ten races when racing and earned £12,285,608 overall.
